4X4S : Roberto Ricci
Riding the waves of design and innovation
Who drives a Nissan 4x4? Those with a passion for life. Dynamic individuals who push the boundaries – and push themselves. People like Roberto Ricci, one of the most renowned and inventive designers of surfing equipment, clothing and accessories. From Sardinia to Hawaii, the RRD brand is synonymous with innovation and quality, revolutionising the technique of surfboard construction. It’s this spirit that sees Roberto drive a Nissan Pathfinder Platinum – combining exceptional power and strength with technology and luxurious comfort.
But what does he use his Pathfinder for?
“I use Pathfinder to go to work,” said Roberto when we caught up with him in Africa, “to go to the sea for training or to transport new materials. Pathfinder is my first choice every time I need to travel to far off places, like Sardinia or Corsica.”

Why did he choose a Nissan Pathfinder?
“I chose Pathfinder because it’s a car which is good for the everyday trip to the office and also those more adventurous times when I want to drive to the sea to test new equipment. On the inside, the car is spacious and versatile and it allows me to load all the equipment easily. When I get to the beach, Pathfinder is perfect, as I can get right in the middle of the action, without wasting any time.”
What does he particularly like about the car?
“I really care about design,” says Roberto, so I appreciate the balance between the square lines and the style of the car. Inside, Pathfinder is well equipped, with leather seats, high quality navigation and Bluetooth, which give you everything you need, just like you were home. The versatility is also one of the things I like most. This 4x4 is able to move deftly on the hardest roads, even off-road, and to reach the most remote spots in Sardinia. But it’s a great family car too, and you can use it to transport strollers and children just as easily as surfboards!”
